The name is a compass, not a decoration.
The captain of the fleet
For generations, pearl diving shaped life along the Gulf. Each fleet followed one person: the Sardal, its captain. He knew the banks, the seasons and the sea, and he knew where to look. Every pearl brought home began with his judgement.
We named our chocolate after him because that is what we want to be: a guide to something rare, found by looking closer.
Chocolate Pearls
Every pearl has a name.
The pearl divers named what they found by size, shape and colour. Those names live on in our Chocolate Pearls.

Two traditions, one chocolate.
Belgian craft
Sardal is built on 140 years of Belgian chocolate tradition, carried forward by the Leclef family. The recipes, the discipline and the know-how come from that house.
Gulf heritage
The patience of the pearl divers, the warmth of Emirati hospitality and the materials of the land — stone, sand, water and light — shape everything else.
The founder
Maurice Le Clef
Maurice Le Clef is a direct descendant of the Belgian family whose chocolate story began in Brussels in 1889. He carries 140 years of Belgian chocolate tradition into a new chapter: a chocolate house that belongs to the UAE.
I have spent my life with chocolate. My family taught me that real chocolate is made with patience, honesty and care. Sardal is my way of carrying that forward — in the UAE, and for the people who will come after us. If it carries the Sardal name, it will be real chocolate.
If it carries our name, it is real chocolate.
No compounds, no shortcuts. Only real chocolate, made with the care it deserves.

What guides us
Six values decide every space and every bar.
Pure, authentic, serene, elegant, playful and transparent. We use them as a checklist, not as decoration.
